Senior Analyst

Hatfield, ENG, GB, United Kingdom

Job Description

Senior Analyst - Hybrid (2 days a week, Hatfield)

At Ocado Logistics, we're redefining the future of logistics. With cutting-edge technology, expanding operations, and innovative business partnerships, our mission is to deliver seamless, efficient, and customer-first experiences at scale.

Our Planning & Analytics team sits at the heart of this transformation. We harness data to unlock efficiencies, drive cost savings, and enable smarter decision-making across the supply chain. And now, we're growing -- fast.

We are looking for problem-solvers, data storytellers, and strategic thinkers who want to shape the next era of logistics.

What you'll be doing

As a Senior Analyst, you'll play a pivotal role in using data to power decisions and outcomes across our logistics network:

Driving efficiency and optimisation in supply chain and logistics through advanced analytics. Identifying trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement using data-driven insights. Working closely with data engineers to build and evolve a common data model for our business domain within the wider analytics landscape. Developing and implementing strategies across inventory, procurement, and distribution. Designing intuitive dashboards and reports to translate data into actionable insight for stakeholders. Partnering with cross-functional teams to turn analysis into tangible business outcomes. Staying ahead of industry trends, tools, and techniques to keep Ocado at the forefront of innovation.

What we're looking for

To succeed, you'll bring a blend of technical capability, commercial awareness, and stakeholder influence:

Strong experience as an Analyst, ideally in a big data environment. Expertise in SQL (analytical SQL required) and familiarity with tools such as Excel, VBA, Python, R, or similar programming languages. Exposure to dbt or modern data transformation frameworks would be highly desirable. Proven ability to solve both quantitative and qualitative problems with creativity and rigour. Excellent communication skills - you can turn complex data into compelling stories that influence decision-making.

What to expect in the process

Intro Call (30 mins) - Speak with our Recruiter, Richard Wandowski, to discuss your experience and identify the best fit within the team. Case Study Task - A short data analysis exercise for shortlisted candidates. Interviews (1-2 stages) - Scenario-based, technical, and behavioural interviews, including a discussion of your case study.

We'll be looking not just at technical expertise, but how you deliver insight, explain the 'why' behind the data, and use data storytelling techniques to drive action.

What we offer

At Ocado, your career will be as dynamic as the technology we create. We foster a collaborative, inclusive culture with opportunities to make a tangible impact. Our benefits include:

Hybrid Working - 2 days a week in Hatfield + 30 days a year "work from anywhere." Career Growth - Work on innovative projects at the cutting edge of data and logistics.
