Job summary
We are currently recruiting for a
Senior Analys
t in livestock, to work on a hybrid basis, two/three days from our HQ in Coventry and the remainder working remotely from home.
This role has responsibility researching, analysing and interpreting livestock market information, and clearly communicating analytical insight and intelligence to AHDB and its levy payers. We are looking for a highly analytical and data-driven individual with clear evidence of having prepared and communicated economic and market insight through a variety of sources. Knowledge or a background in the agriculture sector is preferred, although not essential.

Job description
Prepare and disseminate analysis, interpretation and commentary relating to livestock agricultural commodity markets, farm businesses and the economic environment that they operate in, retail and consumer markets and/or trade policy
Work across one or more analytical areas as required by Lead Analysts and Head of Operations to ensure timely delivery of the required outputs by the team and wider division
Work with Lead Analysts, Analysts and Trainee Analysts to ensure that the team is producing relevant analysis with conclusions that are communicated accurately and clearly
Manage and undertake specific analytical projects as agreed with your line manager
Lead on detailed research on specific topics where required, producing written outputs with key messages clearly and effectively communicated
Maintain close contact with industry, academics, government and media to ensure information remains relevant and is effectively disseminated
Instigate and maintain significant contact with internal and external stakeholders and regularly perform presentations to levy payers and other interested parties
Be a key contact in the division for members of the industry and high-profile key stakeholders relating to the analysis being conducted
Person specification
Significant experience of preparing and delivering economic/market analysis, ideally within the agriculture sector, although not essential
Professional qualification to at least degree standard in economics/agriculture or another numerate discipline, or equivalent experience
Experience of using modern IT applications including Excel and PowerPoint (Power BI is also preferred although not essential)
High level of attention to detail
Excellent planning, organisational and project management skills
Experience of leading a small team
Good interpersonal and communication skills
