The Role:




The Pricing Modelling team operates as a Centre of Excellence to develop, maintain and evolve the capability of pricing models across the bank's products (Credit Cards, Vehicle Finance, Second Charge Mortgages, Savings). These models play a pivotal role in enabling the business to achieve its financial objectives, by embedding advanced data-driven modelling in to commercial strategy and pricing decisions, to drive sustainable profitability.


As an Analyst, you will own the design, development, and maintenance of our profitability and pricing models and tracking suite. You will play key role in designing and shaping the generation of models in a cloud-based, data-driven environment, to unlock greater flexibility and granularity to unlock faster, smarter, and more responsive decision making.

As a Senior Analyst - Portfolio Profitability Modelling, you will:



Lead the design, development, innovation, and maintenance of our profitability & pricing models and tracking suites
Evolve the capability of Pricing models, through developing further automation, enhanced granularity, and streamlined user interfaces, on ageneration cloud-based analytics platform Combine business strategies and levers, with data driven customer performance, within the models, to translate key performance drivers into financial measures and outcomes, such as RoTE & PBT Working to ensure we take the right decisions for our shareholders and customers by supporting other teams around the business in a wide range of profitability & financial analysis Place strong and robust controls and automation around everything you do - to make sure that our tools and models are precise, accurate, and trusted throughout the business Ensure all models in operation are fit for purpose through the development of dynamic model monitoring suites, recalibrating and redeveloping these models when necessary Identify new opportunities and improvements in current modelling practices, processes and tools, through inquisitive and innovative analysis Coaching junior team members; conducting peer-review of team members work, and role modelling exceptional behaviours and standards Deputise for Senior manager as and when require

What We're Looking For:



Pricing Modelling:

experience developing NPV / profitability / pricing / financial models in Python/SAS/SQL/Excel/or similar technologies, with a full understanding of the purpose, design, mechanics and outputs

Coding & Forecasting:

Experienced with Python, Snowflake, SQL, or SAS; confident developing code from scratch to manipulate and interrogate data, with strong knowledge of forecasting techniques/tools/libraries

Financial Metrics:

Familiarity with the components and structure of the P&L / balance sheet, and key financial measures and metrics

Lending Products:

Credit Cards, Loans, or Vehicle Finance product experience with knowledge of the profitability drivers & modelling approaches

Model Development:

A good understanding of the model development lifecycle and key principles

Communication:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of presenting complex findings to non-technical stakeholders, and building strong relationships with key stakeholders.
