Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Analytics Engineer to lead the design and implementation of our data infrastructure and analytics capabilities. The ideal candidate will combine deep technical expertise in data engineering with strong business acumen, enabling data-driven decision-making across the organisation. You will be responsible for building scalable data pipelines, optimising data models, and empowering teams with reliable, accessible analytics solutions.

Responsibilities



Design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines and ETL processes using modern data stack technologies. Develop and optimise data models in SQL and Python to support analytics, reporting, and machine learning initiatives. Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions. Implement data quality frameworks and monitoring systems to ensure accuracy and reliability of analytics outputs. Optimise query performance and database structures across MySQL, PostgreSQL, and cloud data warehouses. Build and maintain data transformation workflows using tools such as dbt, Airflow, or similar orchestration platforms. Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of data architectures, pipelines, and analytics processes. Mentor junior engineers and analysts, promoting best practices in data engineering and analytics. Evaluate and implement emerging analytics technologies to continuously improve the data platform.

Requirements



Advanced proficiency in SQL with experience in complex query optimisation and data modelling. Strong programming skills in Python, with experience in data processing libraries (Pandas, NumPy, PySpark). Hands-on experience with cloud data platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform. Experience with modern data warehouse solutions (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, or similar). Familiarity with data orchestration tools such as Airflow, Dagster, or Prefect. Knowledge of data visualisation tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker) and their integration with data pipelines. Understanding of version control systems, particularly Git/GitHub, and CI/CD practices for data workflows. Experience with dimensional modelling, star schemas, and analytics engineering best practices. Strong analytical thinking with ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions. Excellent communication skills to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Experience with dbt (data build tool) is highly desirable.
