Role Purpose:

Reporting into the Head of Analytics & Data Science, this role will lead the development of B&Q's analytics capability and drive data led decision making across the business. You'll partner with senior leaders across Commercial, Supply Chain, Retail, Finance and more to identify opportunities where analytics can deliver real value. You'll shape strategy, oversee high-impact analysis, and build a scalable capability that supports B&Q's growth. This is a pivotal role in defining how analytics operates at B&Q, setting direction, developing people, and delivering measurable impact in a fast-paced retail environment.

Shape and champion the vision and strategic direction for analytics across B&Q's core business functions, ensuring alignment to business priorities and measurable outcomes.
+ Build strong partnerships with leaders across multiple core business functions to understand challenges,influence priorities, and identify where analytics can drive performance and efficiency.

+ Lead the shift towards product-oriented, reusable analytics assets, ensuring existing solutions are scaledand repurposed where appropriate to avoid duplication, accelerate delivery, and drive long-term business


value.

+ Develop the roadmap for future analytical capability, working with the Head of Analytics & Data Science todefine resourcing needs, delivery models, and governance standards.

+ Identify the data sources required to unlock priority analytical use cases, and work with Data Enablement toshape, refine and prioritise the development of data products that support cross-functional value delivery.

+ Lead the delivery of high-quality, actionable analysis that informs strategic and operational decisions.
+ Build and lead a high-performing analytics team, creating a culture of growth, collaboration, and deliveryexcellence.

+ Champion modern tooling and delivery practices (e.g. Databricks, Power BI, Azure/AWS/GCP etc) to ensureanalytics is scalable, secure, and efficient.

+ Collaborate closely with Data Science, Data Visualisation & Automation, and Product Management to deliverjoined-up, end-to-end analytical solutions.

+ Coach, mentor and challenge analysts, improving the team's technical depth, business understanding, andcommercial impact.

+ Lead the change in how analytics is understood and adopted across the business, influencing mindsets,embedding new ways of working, and ensuring teams are supported through the transition to a data-led


culture.

+ Embed strong governance and quality standards, ensuring analytical outputs are reliable, well-documented,and repeatable.

+ Play a visible leadership role across B&Q and the wider Kingfisher data community, sharing best practiceand driving a joined-up approach to analytical delivery.

+ Champion data literacy across the organisation, helping business teams become more confident ininterpreting and using data.

+ Stay up to date with external trends and best practices to ensure B&Q's analytics capabilities remain modernand commercially relevant.
Significant experience leading analytics teams and defining analytical strategy within a complex organisation, ideally in retail, or a similar data-rich environment. Proven track record of delivering business impact through analytics, from diagnostic insight to predictive or optimisation-based work. Strong technical grounding, able to guide and review analytical work, with proficiency in SQL and working knowledge of Python. Experience operating within modern cloud data environments (for example Databricks), understanding how

data is accessed, transformed and deployed for analytics at scale.
Experienced in modern, agile analytics delivery using version control, CI/CD, and cloud-based toolings Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, able to translate analytical findings into clear, actionable business narratives. Demonstrated ability to lead, coach and develop managers and analysts, building a high-performance culture. Commercially minded, strategic, and comfortable operating through ambiguity to set direction and deliver tangible results. Strong consultative skills, able to work with senior stakeholders to understand business problems, shape the analytical approach, and ensure solutions are adopted and deliver measurable value
