Due to the continued expansion of our business, we are now looking to recruit for a senior auditor specialising in Aquaculture certification. This is a permanent full-time post, working with two other Aquaculture specialists and a further support team of experts located internationally. The role offers the opportunity to work with both new and existing clients seeking certification against the GGAP, ASC and BAP standards, in both local and international destinations.
The position will be home based, but will also require extensive travelling, especially as you become more experienced and established in the role. We see this as a great opportunity for a qualified and competent aquaculture auditor to become a senior member of the Aquaculture team lead on several different regional opportunities and help develop new staff to become future auditors.
The role of the Senior Aquaculture Auditor is as follows:
Project manage Aquaculture assessments, including but not limited to:
Respond to queries from new and existing clients;
Using the Scheme owner and Control Union database management system, ensure that the correct documentation is obtained and recorded during all stages of the certification cycle;
Work with the team to ensure all site visits are scheduled according to auditor availability and geographical location;
Attend and carry out audits as required at client locations both within the UK and internationally;
Prepare audit reports and relevant documents on time;
Act as a point of contact for the Aquaculture scheme owners and work with the Aquaculture Scheme Manager to resolve technical enquiries;
Contribute when required during annual office audits.
Support business development, including managing communications with potential clients.
Candidate Description, the ideal candidae would have the following:
Degree or equivalent in business, economics, science or technical programme; Examples of technical qualifications include supply chain and logistics management, food / seafood science and fisheries science;
2 current years work experience in the field of aquaculture certification programmes
Qualified and competent Aquaculture lead auditor for at least one Aquaculture scheme
Strong administration skills and the ability to process a large volume of similar detailed tasks;
Proven ability to meet deadlines and deliver professional reports;
High level of attention to detail;
Willingness to travel when required (generally for the completion of site visits).Strong analysis skills with the ability to interpret large volumes of financial data accurately.
Longer term Tasks:
Lead on the development of new trainee auditors and develop an audit team
Taking responsibility for the technical lead on Aquaculture certification schemes (GGAP, ASC, BAP etc).
Attend and represent Control Union at national and international events to promote certification services.
Desirable:
Drives a vehicle and has a clean UK driving licence
Language skills at a professional level (other than English)
Other auditing qualification beyond Aquaculture (e.g. Food safety, Social Responsibility).
Salary and benefits package:
Starting salary to be discussed on application and subject to experience
Discretionary bonus linked to company and individual performance.
25 days paid holiday plus bank holidays, rising to 30 with length of service.
