We are seeking a Senior Assistant Engineer to join Caerphilly County Borough Council's Engineering Projects Group.

This role supports the highways design and project management team, contributing to the delivery of infrastructure schemes including junction and highway improvements, road safety schemes, safe routes, active travel, car parks and sustainable drainage (SuDS).

The post involves design work, site supervision, contract administration, and stakeholder liaison. You'll work closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure high-quality service delivery.

For the role, we ask that you have:

A relevant Level 4, 5 or 6 qualification on the Credit and Qualifications Framework for Wales. Ability to effectively communicate both written and orally. Experience in financial procedures associated with the monitoring and control of design and construction projects. Full UK Category B (Cars) driving licence and the use of a motor vehicle insured for business / work purposes to travel throughout the borough to visit constructions sites, carry out surveys, site inspections, supervise work and attend meetings.
