An exciting opportunity has arisen within NHFT secured services at HMP Peterborough, who will deliver all of healthcare services across the male and female prison estates. This includes primary care, substance misuse, mental health, and perinatal care. The post holder would be working as an active member of the NHFT team, working across the services provided. We recognise that many individuals have experienced a multitude of traumatic experiences. This role will be about embedding a trauma informed compassionate care model of delivery of care. You will be working independently according to a plan agreed with a qualified Psychologist and within the overall framework of the team's policies and procedures. You will assist in clinically related administration, conduct audits, collect statistics, develop audit/and or research projects, teaching and project work.You will be part of a multidisciplinary team providing support for services users on the perinatal mental health pathway delivering assessments and psychological interventions under the supervision of the qualified Psychologist. You will be required to work with other client groups too such as those with substance misuse and mental health problems.Main duties of the jobKey areas of responsibility will be to work under supervision of the Principal Psychologist to:Support assessments of psychological needs of clients, gathering and collating relevant informationTo assist in the formulation and delivery of care plans involving the psychological treatment/management of service users mental health concernsTo assist in the co-ordination and running of groupsSupport appropriate record keeping, audit, policy and research as requiredTo undertake data collation, analysis and report production relevant to field of workAssist in the development and delivery of psychological interventions and evaluationsAssist in the development of psychological information and intervention materialsAssist with the integration of all services delivered and the development of an integrated trauma informed serviceWork within professional codes of conductAbout usNHFT is an integrated primary care and mental health Trust, providing physical, mental health and specialty services in both hospital settings and out in the community. • Honors degree in Psychology (Second Class or higher
• Working in a healthcare and/or prison setting
• Experience of using psychological assessments, formulations, risk assessments and care planning

• Further post graduate training in relevant areas of professional psychology, mental health practice and/or research design and analysis.
• Experience of working with offenders

• Ability to work with individuals with a history of violence and/or sexual offending
• High level communication skills (written and verbal) including an ability to communicate and work in settings in which the atmosphere may be highly emotive.
• An understanding of complex needs of a person with a diagnosis of Personality Disorders/mental illness/learning disability

• Ability to accept and use supervision appropriately and effectively.
• Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team as well as independently reliably and consistently with work agreed and managed at regular intervals.

• An understanding of psychology applied to healthcare within a prison setting

• Experience of working with offenders
