Our growing Banking & Finance Team in Belfast are newly recruiting for a Senior Associate to join and support in the continued growth and development of the practice.
This is an excellent opportunity for you to gain a broad and varied caseload, working with notable clients. You will receive bespoke training throughout your career and we will ensure that you have the technical and commercial skills to build an effective and successful practice and become a sector specialist.
Your Role
As a key addition to the growing team, you will have the opportunity to:

• Manage your own caseload of banking matters and support the Partners with larger transactions
• Provide an excellent service to our clients by working closely with colleagues from across the UK in both the Banking and Finance team and other specialisms
• Support the Partners in business development matters and help to strengthen the relationships with new and existing clients
• Demonstrate an understanding of the client's business and an ability to secure new work from existing client relationships as well as further developing these relationships
• Delegate tasks to other team members appropriate to their job role level and skill to ensure the optimum use of available resource and utilisation
• Supervise work delegated to trainees and other team members as a means of developing others adopting a supportive and coaching approach
• Focus on financial implications and targets at a team and group level

Your Skills & Experience
You will be/have:

• A Qualified Solicitor (qualification with Law Society of Northern Ireland, SRA or Law Society in England or Law Society of Ireland) with 4-6 PQE in a similar legal setting
• A good working knowledge of real estate finance/ corporate finance/ clean energy finance or structured finance transactions (both from lender or borrower side)
• Some experience in drafting LMA style loan documentation is preferred
• Good client connections in the local NI market (or beyond)
• A forward thinker, with excellent analytical, communication and organisational skills, you will be self-motivated with the ability to manage workloads and deadlines
• Commercially aware with some exposure to business development, with the ability to maintain and nurture strong client relationships
• Develop a deep understanding of your client's business needs, and act in the best interest of the firm and the client
• Contribute to our collaborative culture, with an ambition to assist in the development of junior team members

In addition, we act for a wide spectrum of corporate borrowers in all of our key sectors in the investment and non investment grade spaces.
We provide clear commercial advice on all areas of restructuring and insolvency law. With broad and deep expertise in restructuring and insolvency, and specialism in the acquisition and disposal of debt portfolios, we act for everyone from corporates and their boards to banks and government agencies. From large restructuring, workouts and formal insolvencies to acting for individual creditors and assisting stakeholders, we're ready when clients need us.
