Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Associate to join our Banking and Finance team in Cardiff. In this role, you will work with major UK banks such as Lloyds, NatWest, Virgin Money, HSBC and Santander, as well as alternative debt providers including ThinCats, OakNorth and Beechbrook Capital. You will also collaborate with our corporate and property teams on a variety of funding transactions.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to build their profile as a banking specialist in the Cardiff market. Business development is a key part of the role, giving you the chance to develop strong relationships and support the continued growth of both the Cardiff banking team and the wider office.
You will advise clients on the legal aspects of their banking agreements, particularly in areas such as acquisition finance (including private equity backed), property finance, healthcare finance, asset based lending, restructuring and refinancing. You will take a lead role on transactions, from drafting and negotiating facility agreements to managing projects, supervising colleagues, and working with overseas lawyers. You will also play an active part in marketing initiatives across Cardiff and other key markets, including Nottingham, Manchester, Birmingham and London.
The ideal candidate will be a team player with high levels of personal commitment and initiative, able to supervise others and delegate work effectively. You should be flexible, enthusiastic, ambitious and results-oriented, with a sound knowledge of banking law and a commercial approach to problem-solving.
