What you can expect to be doing:
This role sits within the Finance Data and Controls team and supports the accuracy and reliability of data used in financial reporting. You'll assist with reconciliations, control documentation, and day-to-day checks that underpin Finance processes. The role is suited to someone early in their finance career who has already gained experience in a junior accounting or finance role and is looking to build on that foundation within a banking environment.
Key Responsibilities
Support daily reconciliations and assist with monitoring core Finance data flows.
Log, track and follow up on data issues, working with colleagues to support resolution.
Maintain and update control documentation to support audit and compliance needs.
Assist in reviewing how financial data is captured and processed within systems.
Work collaboratively with Finance and Technology teams to respond to data queries.
Help prepare materials for internal and external audit activity.
Follow internal controls and Group policies when handling data and reporting tasks.
Support control testing and compliance reviews as part of regular Finance activity.
Keep up to date with relevant risk and compliance standards.
Requirements:
Prior experience in a financial services environment
Interest in developing a career in accounting or financial control
Familiarity with reconciliations, data checking, or basic financial reporting processes
Comfortable using Excel and handling structured data
Strong attention to detail and good organisational habits
Clear communication skills and a collaborative working style
A genuine interest in financial data, control environments, and learning within a regulated setting
Where you'll be based:
Our home office in Finsbury Square, London. We offer hybrid working to our employees, so you can flex between home and the office, with a current requirement to be in the office 2 days per week.
