Salary: Up to 70,000 plus car/allowance and benefits

and play a vital role in maintaining and enhancing the electrical safety of our critical water infrastructure.


As a SAP at Severn Trent, you'll be responsible for overseeing the safe installation, operation, and maintenance of high- and low-voltage electrical systems. You will lead electrical safety procedures, including issuing permits, managing isolations, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations--especially in DSEAR environments.

What's the role:

Acting as the Senior Authorised Person under Severn Trent's Electrical Safety Rules Managing electrical safety documentation (e.g. permits to work, isolation certificates) Supervising HV/LV switching, isolations, and energisations Leading engineering teams during installations and maintenance Conducting risk assessments and ensuring safe systems of work Liaising with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders Ensuring compliance with DSEAR, BS7671, and Electricity at Work Regulations Maintaining accurate records and contributing to continuous improvement

What you will need:

A recognised qualification in Electrical Engineering (HNC/HND or equivalent) Extensive experience in the water industry or similar industrial environments Formal training and certification as a Senior Authorised Person (LV/HV) AP12 Accreditation
