Job Title: Automation Installation Engineer

Reports to: Head of Installation and Aftersales
Location: Various UK sites / Travel required
Job Purpose
To install, commission, and support automated systems including conveyors, robotic cells, and crane systems. The role involves mechanical and electrical fault finding, system integration, and ensuring installations meet safety and performance standards.
Key Responsibilities
Installation & Commissioning
- Install and commission automated systems including conveyors, robotic arms, and overhead cranes.
- Interpret mechanical and electrical drawings and schematics.
- Ensure installations are completed to specification, on time, and within budget.
Fault Finding & Diagnostics
- Perform electrical and mechanical fault finding on automation systems.
- Use diagnostic tools (e.g., multimeters, PLC software) to identify and resolve issues.
- Support software validation and testing during commissioning.
Technical Support & Aftersales
- Provide on-site and remote support for installed systems.
- Conduct routine maintenance and emergency repairs.
- Liaise with clients to resolve technical issues and provide training where necessary.
Health & Safety
- Adhere to RAMS and site-specific safety protocols.
- Ensure all work complies with relevant HSE regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed and safety checks.
Skills & Experience Required
Essential
- Proven experience in automation installation (conveyors, robotics, cranes).
- Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and wiring diagrams.
- Experience with PLCs (e.g., Siemens, Allen Bradley).
- Familiarity with industrial safety standards and permit-to-work systems.
Desirable
- Experience with robotic programming and integration.
- Knowledge of crane systems and lifting equipment regulations.
- Certification in electrical safety (e.g., 18th Edition).
- IPAF, PASMA, or similar site access qualifications.
Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering.
- Valid CSCS card or equivalent.
- Full UK driving licence.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: 40,000.00-60,000.00 per year
