The role and opportunity The Senior Software Engineer will play a key role in building and improving products and processes to ensure we\'re providing a world class customer experience. Day to day you will be

• Working with Platform/backend Team colleagues on a variety of services and (when the time is right) acting as the lead for our Identity Service
• Helping to define the future direction of services by documenting positive and negative decisions (Learning, guiding mindset)
• Engaging with business stakeholders with confidence and clear communication
• Working closely with Tech/Product and Platform, to refine and/or write new stories, tasks
• Attending daily stand ups, and contributing to other AGILE ceremonies

• In depth experience as a Backend Engineer at a senior level
• Experience with Golang (and/or C++)
• Testing, mocking
• Chaos engineering mindset
• NoSQL Data stores such as document stores, buckets etc.
• Information Security understanding and instincts (E.g OWASP10, GDPR)
• Architecture & Design knowledge such as:
  • Design Patterns
  • Networking and Inter service communication
  • Web APIs
  • Proxies
  • Event handling

• Although we have a dedicated DevOps team you are expected to understand cloud based computing

Nice to have (but not essential)

• Awareness of Terraform/IAC (or the desire to learn)
• Computer science degree
• Swagger driven API, OpenAPI (code generation from documentation)
• Lean / Agile Approaches
• Experience working in a regulated environment
• The ability to design and architect future services

In return for your contribution we offer a base salary of \xc2\xa370,000 - \xc2\xa390,000 DOE + benefits
