The Role

As a

Senior Backend Engineer

with expertise in PHP (Laravel) and experience in front-end technologies such as VueJS, Typescript, and Nuxt, you will be part of an innovative team developing and expanding upon a high traffic product for the parking industry.

How to make an impact

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, product managers, and quality assurance, to gather requirements and design, develop, and implement features in PHP (Laravel) and VueJS (Nuxt). Write unit and integration tests using TDD best practices to ensure the reliability and stability of the code. Optimise and maintain databases, including MySQL, for efficient performance.*
Use Docker to deploy and manage application services in a scalable and containerized environment. Utilise AWS services for building and deploying application services in a cloud-based environment. Participate in CI/CD processes, including automated build, test, and deployment pipelines, to ensure smooth and efficient software delivery. Use Git for version control and collaborate with other team members to ensure effective code management. Collaborate with other backend engineers to identify, manage and prioritise tech-debt. Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies, and proactively suggest improvements to our technology stack.

Your background

Strong experience in PHP (8.4) and Laravel (12) development, with a deep understanding of respective concepts and best practices. Experience with VueJS, Nuxt, and Typescript. Familiarity with developing performant and fault-tolerant APIs. Proficiency in designing and maintaining MySQL databases. Experience with Docker for containerization and deployment of application services. Knowledge and experience with the core AWS services (ECS, EC2, S3, SQS). Proficient in using Git for version control. Strong expertise in CI/CD processes, including automated build, test, and deployment pipelines.

Detail-oriented with strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities, with the capability to work in an agile-based environment. Resilient, adaptable, and self-motivated; effective both independently and in team environments. Passionate about staying updated with the latest technologies and continuously improving the technology stack. Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills with a positive, can-do attitude.

This role is fully remote, we require you to be based in the United Kingdom
