We are seeking dedicated and experienced Senior Bakery Team Leaders to join our bakery teams on either dayshift or nightshift. The bakery teams operate on a 4 on, off basis from either 7am to 7pm or 7pm to 7am.
As this is a newly introduced role, we currently have vacancies on both shifts.
The new roles key accountabilities are to:
Provide leadership within the Bakery and motivating and developing individuals and teams to achieve a Best-In-Class manufacturing environment.
Ensure that our products are consistently made to the highest quality standards, meeting production targets and that the team works safely and efficiently.
Operate as the SAP Super User within the team
Lead for continuous improvement activities within the team.
Deputise or the Shift Manager during their absence
It is anticipated that 50% of time will be allocated to the duties associated with SAP super user, continuous improvement activities and deputising for the Shift Manager. The remaining time will be operational in the bakery.
Responsibilities:
Operational Responsibilities
Lead a team of production operatives in the day-to-day running of the bakery line.
Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health & safety regulations.
Ensure production targets and quality standards are consistently met.
Monitor product quality, ingredients, and equipment during runs.
Manage the production 'clean as you go' and good manufacturing procedures to maintain a safe, hygienic and efficient work environment. Participate in GMP audits and progress actions.
Coordinate and communicate effectively with other departments (e.g., planning, technical, quality, maintenance, dispatch).
Identify training and development needs within the team and support the Shift Manager to develop and deliver individual and team training plans effectively.
Monitor and manage team attendance and performance and support the Shift Manager in addressing any issues promptly and in line with company policies.
Support agency/temporary employees bought in to support the team
Record and report production data, downtime, and performance issues.
Additional Responsibilities
Monitor and make amendments to SAP entries from the team as required.
Carry out training of team members who need further support to operate SAP effectively
Ensure the right BTNs are recorded
Ensure stock is in the right location.
Undertake investigations into any SAP discrepancies and report findings to the Shift Manager for action.
Enter and monitor waste accurately on SAP making recommendations to Shift Manager and Manufacturing Improvement Manager on how this can be reduced.
Support with audit traceability and quarterly SAP upgrades
Deputise for the Shift Manager during their absence in line with the Shift Manager job description.
Lead within the shift team for continuous improvement activities and undertaking lean manufacturing training with the Manufacturing Improvement Manager
Experience (Essential)
Proven experience in food manufacturing, including leadership.
Good understanding of food hygiene, health & safety and quality standards.
Experience with SAP system or relevant training completed.
It would be an added bonus if you also brought bakery manufacturing knowledge.

Qualifications
Food Safety Level 3 but if you also had HACCP that would be even better.
