To further enhance our Digital Delivery team, we are looking for a Senior BIM Technician with extensive Civils 3D experience to join us. Working on our key civil infrastructure projects in the UK, the successful candidate will be a detail-oriented and skilled CAD/BIM Technician responsible for preparing accurate 3D models and 2D drawings in compliance with internal and project CAD standards.


Your key responsibilities will be:

You are proficient in Civil 3D and AutoCAD 3D modelling, with extensive experience in preparing detailed 3D models, utilizing tools and workflows; this includes a comprehensive understanding of points, parcels, surfaces, alignments, profiles, corridors, and plan production Demonstrate a solid foundation in AutoCAD for producing clear, precise 2D drawings ensuring adherence to internal or project CAD standards and specifications, knowledge must include annotation, and other basic functions to maintain standards for drawing consistency Assist CAD Managers with quality assurance and quality control checks on team deliverables to maintain high standards Collaborate closely with other members of the Digital Delivery team to ensure accuracy, consistency, and timely delivery of all outputs Maintain and organise project files and documentation following established filing systems and protocols Identify opportunities for improving CAD/BIM processes and workflows within the project team Assisting and advising on and ensuring projects are set-up effectively with respect to software, tools, and processes Taking an engaged approach in training and developing colleagues across the business and junior members of the Digital Delivery Discipline Team, ensuring their advancement and skill-building on various projects Providing key specialist support to the Discipline Management Team in the development of internal Civil 3D Processes Maintaining a positive and motivated attitude towards checking and a business-mindset towards quality

On top of that, you'll have:

Extensive experience of working with Civils 3D on UK infrastructure projects, especially on geotechnical projects An HNC or higher education in Civil Engineering or a related field and Professionally Qualified to EngTech (MICE or TMIET) Comprehensive understanding of Civils 3D and its application in the delivery of large-scale infrastructure projects and proficiency in Civil 3D's tools and workflows Knowledge and understanding of other software platforms, such as Revit, Tekla or Bentley OpenBuildings Designer Knowledge of Dynamo (and/or Python) scripting for enhanced model automation and efficiencies Experience of working with CDEs specifically ProjectWise and ACC Experience in coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and integrating designs as well as familiarity with CAD standards and procedures within the UK construction or engineering sector, with experience supporting quality control processes of CAD/BIM deliverables Enhanced communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with engineers, discipline leads, and project managers and manage time effectively to meet deadlines Demonstrable experience of working with the IMI (formerly the UK BIM Framework - delivering Projects using the framework provided by ISO19650) and working in UK BIM Project Delivery Roles
