Job Description


Our client is a continuously growing, dynamic consultancy firm working extensively in emerging markets. They were founded by a group of entrepreneurial and highly experienced international ESG advisors, passionate about harnessing the power of finance to help address the climate, environmental and social challenges facing the world today.

Our client works with international financial institutions in challenging environments to help manage and mitigate ESG risk and deliver projects ranging from designing ESG systems and building ESG capacity, to managing ESG risk on multi-billion-dollar developments and supporting hundreds of thousands of hectares of reforestation, to designing community investment funds.

Our client is looking for Biodiversity Experts who have experience with reporting and implementing against IFC PS6 and other international standards, and relevant experience in addressing ESG risks and opportunities on international projects in relation to biodiversity. The right individual will be a self-starter with a background in biodiversity or similar, and the ability to support both project delivery and business development.

Experience & skills required

  • 5-10 years\' experience in a similar role
  • An undergraduate degree in biological, biophysical, or social science. Relevant post-graduate degree desired but not essential.
  • An interest in being client-facing and liaising on technical and project requirements
  • Experience in biodiversity management, Critical Habitat Assessments, biodiversity mitigation measure development, Biodiversity Action Plans and monitoring services, and Biodiversity Risk Assessments in line with PS6.
  • Working with IFC Performance Standards and the Equator Principles, and applying them for biodiversity, as well as supporting corporates with developing biodiversity/ nature-positive strategies
  • Experience with other standards that would be helpful to show understanding of are: World Bank ESF, EBRD PR\'s, Equator Principles 4, OECD Common Approaches and Science-Based Targets for Nature
  • Working under international and local guidelines/ legislation
  • Working with other consultants and associates, including support to junior consultants
  • Coordinating with contractors and stakeholders to ensure report requirements are met
  • Managing project budgets and schedules
  • Organizing stakeholder meetings, interviews, and workshops
  • Representing the firm at meetings with clients, lenders and stakeholders.
