We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Bookkeeper to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in accounting and bookkeeping, with proficiency in various accounting software. This role is crucial for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. The Senior Bookkeeper will work closely with management to provide insights into financial performance and assist in strategic decision-making.
Duties
Maintain accurate financial records by recording day-to-day financial transactions and completing the posting process.
Manage accounts payable, ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments.
Reconcile bank statements and ensure all transactions are accounted for.
Prepare monthly financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow forecasts.
Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts by providing historical data analysis.
Collaborate with external auditors during audits to ensure compliance with regulations.
Utilise accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage to manage financial data effectively.
Provide support and training to junior bookkeeping staff as needed.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar role, preferably in a senior capacity.
Proficiency in accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks, Sage) is essential.
Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and general accounting principles.
Excellent attention to detail with strong organisational skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data accurately.
A relevant qualification in accounting or finance is preferred but not mandatory.
