We are looking for a Senior Bookkeeper to join our client Accountancy Practice in Stockton. The role is best suited to someone with proven experience in a similar role, and can oversee and delegate the Bookkeeping operations in a busy practice. There is no direct line management involved, but you must be organised and a strong communicator. Salary up to xc2xa337,000 per annum, and office based with the occasional day working from home.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate financial records, ledgers, and accounts
  • Manage day-to-day bookkeeping duties including accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, and VAT returns
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
  • Prepare financial reports for management
  • Liaise with external accountants and support audit preparation
  • Oversee the bookkeeping operations and mentor where required
What We're Looking For:
  • Proven experience in a similar senior bookkeeping role
  • Strong working knowledge of accounting software (e.g. Xero, Sage, QuickBooks)
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • AAT qualification (or equivalent)
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced office environment
