East Sussex Children's Service Home Finding and Commissioning team is expanding! Are you a commissioner, health/social care professional or graduate with an understanding of the needs of children who are looked after? If you enjoy a challenge, have effective communication skills, thrive in fast paced environments and have the ability to confidently negotiate then this could be the role for you.


We are seeking a Senior Brokerage officer to join our fast paced and dynamic commissioning team. This role combines strategic placement sourcing with contract oversight and quality assurance monitoring across a range of commissioned services that support children, young people and young adults.


You will play a lead role in coordinating high quality, cost effect homes and support services ensuring all arrangements align with framework agreements, statutory duties and commissioning priorities. Alongside this you will oversee the monitoring of provider performance and compliance, ensuring that the service delivers positive outcomes and represents value for money.


Working within a focussed and driven team, you'll work closely with internal colleagues, partner agencies and external providers to promote a collaborative and outcome focussed approach to delivering care and support to individuals.

We are looking for candidates who:
Understanding of the needs of looked after children and the legislation and policy that pertains to the placement and commissioning role. Experience of working in a Health or Social Care setting. Ability to robustly challenge, advocate and balance need, risk, quality and cost. An understanding of commissioning Ability to engage with and support children and young people in relation to obtaining feedback around placement and package quality.
