We are looking for a
Senior Business Systems Support
who is a keen hardworking individual to join our Business Systems Team. The successful candidate will be educated to a minimum of HND level in a computer science related field and have a methodical approach to problem solving. A minimum of two year's experience in a Systems Support, Data Analyst or similar Role is desirable.
The key role of the Business Systems Support team involves all aspects of the ERP system currently used around our group of companies which includes support & maintenance of SQL Servers, Sage Paperless for document generation and general setup & ongoing support of Sage 1000 which includes user accounts, user menus and troubleshooting problems as they occur.
The Business Systems Support Team is also involved in the implementation and support of various systems including the Factory Management Execution System (Production Planning, Line Management etc.), Engineering Plant Maintenance, Transport Management, HR, Time and attendance and Payroll Software. The responsibilities include setting user accounts, maintaining system screens & dropdown menus, the building and maintenance of reports, providing interfaces between these systems and other software in the business and providing accurate and timely data.
Our ideal candidate will have a good working knowledge of all aspects of computer hardware and Microsoft windows OS and ideally Server OS. They should have experience working with Microsoft SQL Server and writing SQL queries. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and have a knowledge of programming skills in an appropriate language.
The role is based at our head office site in Kirkconnel, Dumfriesshire but some travel may be required to other sites depending on business needs.
Depending on candidates location the option to work from one of our other group sites on certain days could be available.
Role & Responsibilities:
Working with senior teams within the business to implement Projects
Working with existing team providing application & project support for Business Systems around the Group
Communicating with users to understand issues and provide solutions - via helpdesk, email and phone
Working with IT and Operations teams to resolve issues
Ability to communicate effectively with users within all levels of the company
Ability to take the lead and work off own initiative, escalating issues when required and ensuring management are aware of problems/issues.
Ability to assist with the management of the team.
Problem solving skills with a methodical approach
Skillset:
Experience working across a variety of Windows Operating System versions
Good level of competency with Microsoft office Applications
Windows desktop and server technologies
Database querying via MS SQL extracts
SQL Server
Desirable Skills:
Experience working with Sage products (Payroll, Line 50, 200, 500, 1000 and CRM)
Experience in Project Implementation and Support
Experience working with ERP or Financial Accountancy Software
Ability with advanced MS SQL querying techniques
Experience with MS Excel to extract data from databases, Pivot Tables and formulas
Visual Basic and experience in working with Macros in MS Access & MS Excel
Education:
Educated to a minimum of HND level in a relevant subject
