Job Summary




An excellent development opportunity has arisen within the Supplier and Contract Management Team at NHS Blood & Transplant to build on your skills working on contracts in a range of categories and sub-categories initially in the Corproate Services sub-team.


This role provides you with an excellent opportunity to develop your procurement career whilst working in a professional procurement team.


This role is based at our Blood Centre in Filton, Bristol. This is a purpose built, state-of-the art building which is the largest blood manufacturing centre in the world.


You will undertake an extensive induction and training programme and receive ongoing development to support you in your role and achieving your career ambitions.

Main duties of the job




In this role you will be part of a dedicated team of procurement professionals responsible for the management of a variety of business-critical commercial contracts and framework agreements for the provision of goods and services to NHSBT.

Working with the Senior Commercial Managers, suppliers and internal directorate customers to effectively manage contracts, to ensure that all interested parties' needs are met. Being responsible for assisting the Senior Commercial Lead and Assistant Commercial Director in delivering contracts that are robust, free from risk, legally binding and importantly cost efficient and effective. Ensuring that NHSBT can demonstrate to the public through the scrutiny of internal and external audit, that it obtains best value for money on its contracted non-pay expenditure and achieves savings targets. Carrying out supplier management to ensure in contract delivery of expected benefits to NHSBT from the contract and ensure supplier performance and where relevant supplier development. Ensuring compliance with Public Contract Regulations and The Procurement Act 2023, including the legally mandated directives, policy notes and NHSBT Standing Orders and Financial Instructions

About You



Experience and Knowledge



Experience of working with information technology using Microsoft Office packages (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams and PowerPoint). Demonstrable experience in a computerised office environment, preferably within procurement or logistics. Must be able to demonstrate an understanding of legislation covering goods and services. Evidence of working and contributing as part of a team. Experience in formal contracting regulated success. Ability to analyse and interpret financial data. Basic knowledge of commercial markets.

Qualifications and Training



Educated to GCSE standard. Must include Mathematics and English Language or be able to demonstrate relevant experience in this area. Must be willing to study for MCIPS or equivalent. Demonstrate commitment to own Continued Professional Development (CPD).
