, you will oversee purchasing strategy, supplier management, and cost control, ensuring materials are procured
on time, within budget, and to the highest standards

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
As Senior Buyer, you will:
Coordinate and lead the
Central Buying Department
, working closely with Buyers, Accounts, and operational teams
Oversee procurement of all materials across
Maintenance and Project works
Collaborate with
Commercial and Finance teams
to ensure best value, budget control, and accurate reporting
Conduct market research to identify, assess, and onboard suitable suppliers
Prepare and issue purchase orders in line with company procedures
Negotiate pricing, terms, and supplier agreements to achieve cost efficiencies
Maintain accurate procurement records and support timely invoice processing
Build and maintain strong, long-term supplier relationships
Resolve supplier issues and disputes professionally and efficiently
Ensure materials are delivered on time and meet required specifications
Drive continuous improvement in procurement processes and cost reduction initiatives
COMPLIANCE , QUALITY & GOVERNANCE
You will also play a key role in supporting compliance and operational excellence by:
Supporting project teams to comply with the
Integrated Management System (IMS)
and client specifications
Ensuring compliance with electrical accreditations and regulatory requirements
Auditing and evidencing procurement and compliance practices
Championing
Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental (QSHE)
standards across the business
Promoting a strong culture of compliance, safety, and continuous improvement
ABOUT YOU
You will be a confident and organised professional with proven experience in construction procurement.
Essential Knowledge & Qualifications
Degree or Diploma in Procurement (E)* Strong technical understanding of
Mechanical, Electrical and Domestic components
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Valid
CSCS or ECS Card
Experience within the
construction industry

Strong negotiation and supplier management capability
Proven ability to build and lead effective working relationships
Highly organised with strong planning and prioritisation skills
Able to manage multiple projects and work under pressure

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Willingness to travel to various sites as required
Flexibility for occasional out-of-hours work (agreed in advance)
