Join Marine Procurement Ltd (MPL), the European procurement division for the Edison Chouest Offshore (ECO) Group. ECO is a global leader in maritime solutions, operating a cutting-edge fleet of over 200 vessels, ranging from tugs to specialized construction vessels.
As a Senior Buyer, you will lead a dedicated team to manage the end-to-end procurement of technical spares. Your work will directly impact the operational readiness of one of the world's most technologically advanced fleets.
The Role
Reporting to the General Manager - Spares and Service, you will be responsible for sourcing high-performance components and systems while minimizing lifecycle costs. You will act as a vital link between MPL's European supply chain and ECO's global operations, making a measurable contribution to the overall performance of the company.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership:
Supervise and mentor a focused purchasing team to achieve departmental goals.
Strategic Procurement
: Source technical spare parts that balance peak performance with cost-efficiency.
Supply Chain Excellence
: Develop and manage supplier relationships, ensuring excellent support is received and provided to ECO.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
Work closely with MPL to support ECO Maintenance and Operations teams to deliver technical solutions and identify cost-saving opportunities.
Global Mobility:
Lead business operations through both domestic and international travel.
Candidate Profile
We are looking for a driven procurement professional who thrives in a high-performing environment and possesses a technical mindset.
Requirements
Qualifications: Membership of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS).
Industry Experience: A technical background with experience in maritime, heavy engineering, or a related industrial sector.
Negotiation Skills: Proven ability to secure the best commercial terms and delivery performance.
Supplier Management: Skilled in overseeing procurement projects from inception to delivery.
Leadership & Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to lead a team and influence stakeholders at all levels.
IT Literacy: High proficiency in procurement software and office suites.
