Role Summary:


As a Senior Buyer, you will play a pivotal role in our procurement process by sourcing materials, goods, and services to meet the company's operational needs. Your responsibilities will encompass supplier management, negotiation, purchasing, and supply chain optimisation. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of market dynamics, excellent negotiation skills, and a keen eye for cost-saving opportunities while ensuring quality standards are met.

Qualifications Required/Essential Skills:



Professional Supply Chain Management Qualification, or Degree educated or equivalent in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.

Duties and Responsibilities (not exhaustive):



*Supplier Management:

Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
Monitor supplier performance, resolve issues and drive improvements in quality, cost and delivery.
Conduct regular supplier evaluation and implement corrective action.
Execute purchase orders and ensure the timely delivery of goods and services.
Lead negotiations with suppliers to secure favourable terms, pricing, and contracts.
Drive cost-saving initiatives through effective negotiation techniques and value engineering.
Procurement:
Support the implementation of the procurement strategy aligned with business objectives.
Support Procurement team members with their ongoing development.
Source and evaluate suppliers, negotiate contracts, and establish strong vendor relationships.
Monitor market trends, pricing, and supplier performance to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
Ensure compliance with contractual agreements, regulatory requirements and company policies.
Inventory Management:
Optimise inventory levels to minimize carrying costs while maintaining adequate supply.
Identify and mitigate supply chain risks through proactive planning and contingency measures.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline production schedules and minimise lead times.
Implement quality control measures to ensure compliance with industry standards and company specifications.
Work closely with quality assurance teams to address any discrepancies or non-conformities in received goods.
