The Role

The Senior Buying Manager \xe2\x80\x93 General Merchandise is responsible for all merchandising and purchasing to attain sales targets and profit objectives for ensuring that the company goals are met.

Responsibilities of this Senior Buying Manager \xe2\x80\x93 General Merchandise

• Taking responsibilities of the P&L metrics of the category and key components for positive financial results
• Ensure high-quality products and services are delivered foe the different stores and regions
• Create programs for training that maximize sales and minimize spoilage
• Knowledge of pricing and costing policies in GM and H & B \xe2\x80\x93 categories will include Homewares, Glassware, Toys and Gifting
• Strong supervisory skills for conflict management, performance feedback, coaching, and mentoring
• Foster beneficial relationships with vendors and new and existing suppliers
• Regular meetings with store managers and floor merchandisers regarding feedback on products.
• Maintain accurate records according to company policies
• Build and execute seasonal merchandising plans for sales growth and profitability
• Handle customer requests and complaints promptly and courteously

To be successful in this Senior Buying Manager \xe2\x80\x93 General Merchandise

• Minimum of 4years+ Buying experience within the retail industry
• You must be operating as Buying Manager, Category Manager, Head of Buying level within Health,Beauty,General Merchandise Categories.
• Past experience from a branded buying background is essential
• You must have strong leadership experience, including hiring staff, coaching, performance management, daily operations supervision and conducting disciplinaries.
• Has excellent communication skills
• Strong math skills, with experience in developing and managing budgets
• Proficient in computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint,
• Able to prioritise multiple tasks and have excellent organisational skills.
• This is still a hands environments (with a large amount of time visiting stores too)
