The Senior CAD Machine Designer will:

Under the direction and guidance of the Company Technical Director, be expected to initially refine and upgrade existing products, and then with a few months, be able to design whole new machines. The type of machines you will be designing are illustrated on our website: mattresstek.co.uk

MattressTek is constantly designing new machines as well as refining existing models, which will give the successful candidate the opportunity to take a management role in product development from the initial concept to the finished machine going into full production.

The Senior CAD designer will work closely with the fabrication, machining, electrical and assembly departments to provide advice, guidance and assist problem-solving as required.

Be responsible for tutoring and mentoring junior CAD technicians. Assuring their work by supervising them in order to:

Ensure that the drawing library is maintained by managing updates, revisions and corrections and verifying their implementation. Ensure that machine Bill Of Materials for the expanding MattressTek product catalogue is maintained accurately. Ensure that engineering administrative work, such as creating manufacturing packs and build packs are produced for work orders.
In order to be able to achieve this, the successful applicant must be fully versed and experienced in the use of the Solidworks 3D drawing package. Examples of previous work will need to be presented during interview. Applicants will also be tested on their Solidworks competence during interview. Skill with configurations, assemblies and weldments will need to be demonstrated.

This role offers significant scope for personal development and advancement, and the successful applicant must have the ability to independently manage the CAD department for short periods of time.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 17.00-21.00 per hour
