Join Barclays as a Senior Card Scheme Control & Compliance, where you'll become part of a pivotal team within Barclays. The Global Payment Networks (GPN) team works alongside key units across Barclays and is responsible for managing interactions with global payment networks such as Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Diners, JCB, and China UnionPay. As part of the team, you will have the opportunity to shape Barclays' relationships with these payment networks and will take responsibility for a wide range of important initiatives, including oversight and management of the Control & Compliance team, which supports all card schemes across issuing and acquiring for Barclays. Your leadership will ensure the smooth resolution of issues while maintaining high standards of service and efficiency.


To be successful as a Senior Card Scheme Control & Compliance, you should have:

Proven people leader experience with the ability to guide and motivate a team effectively. Strong stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, share knowledge of card schemes to support their strategic agenda, and articulate Barclays' control frameworks. Knowledge of card schemes. SLA management experience. Third-party risk-management expertise. Ability to prepare executive briefings to communicate complex information effectively.

The role is hybrid and based in Northampton.

Purpose of the role

To support business areas with day-to-day processing, reviewing, reporting, trading and issue resolution.

Accountabilities

Support various business areas with day-to-day initiatives including processing, reviewing, reporting, trading, and issue resolution. Collaboration with teams across the bank to align and integrate operational processes. Identification of areas for improvement and providing recommendations in operational processes. Development and implementation of operational procedures and controls to mitigate risks and maintain operational efficiency. Development of reports and presentations on operational performance and communicate findings to internal senior stakeholders. Identification of industry trends and developments to implement best practice in banking operations. Participation in projects and initiatives to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.
