Ceredigion County Council has an urgent requirement for an experienced
Level 3 Senior Carer
to join our dedicated team within an
Older People's Residential Care Home
.
We are looking for a compassionate, professional individual who can provide high-quality care and leadership within a residential setting. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting residents, supervising care staff, and ensuring the smooth running of daily operations.
This is a
6-month contract
, with the potential for extension.
Key responsibilities:
Provide high standards of personal and emotional care to residents, promoting dignity, choice, and independence.
Supervise, support, and motivate care staff on shift, ensuring all care plans and procedures are followed.
Administer medication safely and in line with company policy and CIW regulations.
Contribute to the development and review of individual care plans.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of care delivery and residents' wellbeing.
Liaise with healthcare professionals, families, and other stakeholders.
Promote a safe, clean, and positive living environment for residents.
Support new staff with induction, training, and mentoring as required.
Participate in shift handovers and ensure effective communication across the team.
Requirements:
QCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care (Adults)
or equivalent qualification.
Registered with SCW (Social Care Wales)
.
Previous experience working as a
Senior Carer
,
Assistant Manager
, or
experienced Residential Care Worker
within a care home setting.
Strong communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
A caring and professional approach with a genuine passion for supporting older people.
Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and evenings, as required.
