We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Care Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in providing high-quality care to elderly residents in a care home setting. Your responsibilities will include assisting with daily living activities, supervising junior staff, and ensuring that care plans are effectively implemented. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, leadership qualities, and a genuine passion for enhancing the quality of life for seniors.
Duties
Assist residents with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
Support residents in daily activities to promote independence and well-being.
Supervise and mentor junior staff members to ensure high standards of care.
Develop and maintain individual care plans tailored to each resident's needs.
Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals regarding care requirements.
Drive residents to appointments or community activities as needed.
Ensure the care home environment is safe, clean, and welcoming for all residents.
Participate in training sessions and continuous professional development opportunities.
Experience
Previous experience in senior care or a similar role is highly desirable.
Familiarity with IT systems related to care documentation and reporting is advantageous.
Proven ability to supervise staff and lead by example in a care home environment.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with residents and their families.
