The Senior Care Assistant plays a crucial role in providing high-quality care to residents in a care home setting. This position involves supporting the daily activities of seniors, ensuring their comfort and well-being while promoting independence. The Senior Care Assistant will also take on supervisory responsibilities, guiding junior staff and contributing to the development of care plans tailored to individual needs.
Duties
Assist residents with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
Support residents in daily living activities, encouraging independence and dignity.
Develop and implement personalised care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals and family members.
Supervise and mentor junior staff, providing guidance on best practices in senior care.
Maintain accurate records of residents' progress and any changes in their condition.
Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members to ensure a cohesive approach to care.
Participate in training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge related to senior care.
Ensure the safety and cleanliness of the care environment at all times.
Skills
Proven experience in a care home or similar senior care setting is essential.
Strong leadership abilities with previous supervising experience preferred.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with residents and colleagues.
Ability to develop and implement comprehensive care plans tailored to individual resident needs.
Proficiency in IT systems for maintaining records and documentation related to resident care.
