Senior Care Assistant (Must be able to work a mixture of days and nights)

St Joseph's Convent with Care is a 23 bedroom home located in Brentwood. Working within the ethos of the Institute of Our Lady of Mercy, you will provide high-quality care and support to the Religious Sisters
Working as part of a team, you will take responsibility for the daily organisation of care delivery and staffing. You will act as a positive role model by forming and maintaining open and constructive relationships. You will also deliver person centred care in the convent and ensure that a compassionate and quality service is provided to our Sisters. You will enable Sisters to remain as independent as possible, ensuring their dignity is respected and assist them to remain an active part of the community.
Duties
- Assist sisters with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility.
- Administer medication
- Supervise and support care staff, providing guidance and leadership as needed.
- Develop and implement individual care plans tailored to each sisters needs.
- Communicate effectively with sisters an colleagues, to ensure continuity of care.
- Maintain accurate records of sisters' progress and any changes in their condition.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge related to senior care.
You will have:
- Proven experience of delivering personalised care for older people in a residential care setting
- Previous experience of leading a team; inducting, mentoring & supervising staff
- Excellent communication skills
- Minimum NVQ level 3/4 in Health & Social Care or be prepared to work towards it
- Proficiency in IT systems for maintaining records and documentation.
- Knowledge of senior care practices and the ability to implement effective care plans.
- A compassionate approach with a genuine desire to improve the quality of life for sisters.
