Job Summary
The Senior Care Assistant plays a vital role in providing high-quality care to residents within a care home setting. This position involves supporting the daily needs of elderly individuals, ensuring their comfort and well-being, while also supervising junior staff members. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a compassionate approach to senior care, contributing to the development and implementation of personalised care plans.
Duties
Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility.
Supervise and mentor junior care staff, ensuring adherence to best practices in care delivery.
Develop and maintain individualised care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals and family members.
Communicate effectively with residents, their families, and the multidisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care.
Maintain accurate records of residents' progress and any changes in their condition using IT systems.
Ensure a safe and clean environment for all residents by adhering to health and safety regulations.
Participate in training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge related to senior care.
Qualifications
Previous experience in a senior care or care home environment is essential.
Supervising experience is highly desirable, demonstrating leadership capabilities.
Strong communication skills are necessary for effective interaction with residents, families, and colleagues.
Proficiency in IT systems for record-keeping and communication purposes is required.
A compassionate nature with a genuine interest in supporting the elderly is essential.
Relevant qualifications or certifications in health and social care will be an advantage.
