We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Care Assistant to join our team in providing exceptional care within a reputable care home. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supervising and supporting junior staff, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care tailored to residents' individual needs. This role offers an opportunity to utilise leadership skills whilst maintaining compassionate, person-centred care for our residents. The Senior Care Assistant will be responsible for assisting with care plans, supervising daily activities, and fostering a warm and safe environment for all residents.
Responsibilities
Lead and supervise care staff to ensure the delivery of outstanding care services
Assist residents with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and mobility support
Implement and review personalised care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals and families
Promote independence and dignity among residents through respectful interaction and support
Maintain accurate documentation of care activities and resident progress using IT systems
Facilitate effective communication between team members, residents, and families
Organise activities that promote social engagement and mental well-being
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the care environment
Support with administration tasks including medication management in accordance with policies
Drive company vehicles when required for resident outings or appointments
Qualifications
Previous experience in senior care or a similar supervisory role within a care home setting is essential
Proven supervisory experience demonstrating leadership qualities and team management skills
Knowledge of care plans, health & safety procedures, and safeguarding policies
Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with residents, families, and colleagues
Competent IT skills for documentation and reporting purposes
Valid driving licence is highly desirable for transporting residents or running errands
Compassionate attitude with a genuine interest in senior care and enhancing quality of life for residents
