We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Care Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to residents in a care home setting, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. You will play a key role in implementing care plans and supervising junior staff, while fostering a warm and supportive environment for our senior residents.

MUST have NVQ level 3 in Health & Social Care or willing to work towards
Flexible and able to work shifts which include weekends
Genuine interest in and experience of working with service users in a residential care setting
Ability to communicate effectively at all levels
Team player
Willingness to participate in Vocational Training
Satisfactory DBS Checks
Medication Trained
Qualification in the Safe Handling of Medicines / Experience
What will your role look like?
Ensure the highest possible levels of care are maintained in accordance with person-centred Care Plans, Risk Assessments
Ensure service users' care needs, e.g. physical, emotional and spiritual, are met. Providing supervision and attention when needed
Review Care Plans
Report on the well-being of Service Users and liaise with GPS, Healthcare Professionals and Managers
Ensure service users' privacy, respect and dignity are maintained at all times
Dispense medication, and ensure correct recording of all relevant information relating to medication (after satisfactory completion of the Safe Handling of Medicines course).
Ensure all holistic assessments are carried out when Service Users are admitted to the Abacus Care Home.
Develop and implement individual care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals.
Job Overview
Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal care, mobility, and meal preparation.
Supervise and mentor junior staff members, providing guidance and support as needed.
Maintain accurate records of residents' progress and any changes in their health status.
Communicate effectively with residents, families, and other team members to ensure high-quality care.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the care home environment.
Participate in training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge related to senior care.
Proficient IT skills for maintaining records and documentation accurately.
