We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Senior Care Assistant to join our dedicated team within a reputable care home. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in senior care, supervisory experience, and excellent communication skills. This role offers an opportunity to lead and support a team in delivering high-quality personalised care to our residents. The Senior Care Assistant will be responsible for supervising daily activities, implementing care plans, and ensuring the well-being and dignity of all residents are maintained at all times.
Responsibilities
Supervise and support junior care staff to ensure the delivery of exceptional care in accordance with company standards and care plans
Assist residents with personal care, including bathing, dressing, and mobility support
Develop, review, and implement individualised care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals and families
Monitor residents' health and well-being, reporting any concerns promptly to the appropriate medical personnel
Lead by example in maintaining high standards of hygiene, safety, and dignity within the care environment
Organise and participate in activities that promote residents' independence and social engagement
Maintain accurate documentation of care provided using IT systems and ensure compliance with legal requirements
Provide leadership during shifts, ensuring smooth communication within the team and with external agencies as needed
Support with administrative tasks related to resident care and staff rotas as required
Administer medications safely and ensure all medication tasks are completed with carefulness.
Requirements
Proven experience working within a care home environment specialising in senior care
Supervising experience with demonstrated leadership qualities and ability to motivate a team
Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with residents, families, healthcare professionals, and colleagues
Knowledge of care plans, legal regulations, and best practices in elderly care
IT literacy for maintaining accurate records and documentation
Driving licence is desirable
Compassionate approach with a genuine interest in enhancing residents' quality of life
Ability to work flexibly across shifts including days, evenings, or weekends as required
