The Senior Care Assistant plays a crucial role in providing high-quality care to residents in a care home setting. This position involves supporting the daily living needs of seniors, ensuring their safety, comfort, and dignity while promoting their independence. The Senior Care Assistant will also take on supervisory responsibilities, guiding junior staff and contributing to the development of care plans tailored to each resident's individual needs.
Duties
Assist residents with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
Support residents with mobility and physical activities, ensuring their safety at all times.
Implement and monitor care plans, adjusting as necessary to meet changing needs.
Supervise and mentor junior staff members, fostering a collaborative team environment.
Maintain accurate records of residents' progress and any changes in their health status.
Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
Participate in team meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of care services.
Drive residents to appointments or activities as required, ensuring safe transportation.
Skills
Proven experience in senior care or a similar role within a care home environment.
Strong leadership abilities with previous supervising experience preferred.
Excellent communication skills for interacting with residents, families, and colleagues.
Ability to develop and implement effective care plans tailored to individual needs.
Proficient IT skills for maintaining records and documentation accurately.
A valid driving licence is advantageous for transporting residents when necessary.
