Overview


We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Care Assistant to join our team in providing exceptional care to residents in our care home. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in senior care, with experience in supervising staff and developing care plans. This role requires excellent communication skills, leadership abilities, and a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our residents.

Duties



Assist residents with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort and dignity. Develop and implement individualised care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals and family members. Supervise and mentor junior staff, providing guidance and support to ensure high standards of care are maintained. Maintain accurate records of residents' progress and any changes in their condition. Foster a positive environment by encouraging social interaction among residents and promoting activities that enhance their well-being. Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members to ensure a cohesive approach to care. Drive residents to appointments or activities as necessary, ensuring their safety during transportation. Utilise IT systems for record keeping and reporting, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Requirements



Previous experience in senior care or a similar role is essential. Supervising experience is highly desirable, demonstrating leadership qualities. Strong understanding of care plans and the ability to implement them effectively. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to engage with residents and their families compassionately. A valid driving licence is preferred for transporting residents when required. Proficiency in IT systems related to care management is beneficial. A genuine passion for providing high-quality care to seniors, promoting their independence and dignity at all times.
