We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Care Assistant to join our night team at a well-established care home in Gateshead. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified care professional to take on a leadership role, providing essential support and supervision during night shifts.

If you hold an NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care and have substantial experience in elderly care, we would love to hear from you.

### Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Care Assistant, you will be responsible for:

Providing high-quality, person-centred care to our elderly residents throughout the night, ensuring their comfort and well-being.
Leading and supervising a team of Care Assistants during the night shift, providing guidance and support.
Safely and confidently administering medication rounds in line with company policy and procedures.
Working autonomously and using your initiative to manage the care needs of residents without direct supervision.
Supporting the Deputy Manager and Registered Nursesin the delivery of clinical care and daily operations.
Maintaining accurate care records and documentation using our electronic care planning systems.
Acting as a role model for junior staff, promoting best practices in elderly care and safeguarding*.

### Qualifications & Experience

The ideal Senior Care Assistant will have:

Essential: NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care(or equivalent).
Essential: A minimum of 3 years' experience as a Senior Care Assistant within a nursing home or care homesetting.
At least 2 years' experience relevant to residential carefor the elderly.
Proven experience in leading medication rounds and administering medication.
The ability to work autonomously on night shifts and lead a team effectively.
A compassionate, professional, and reliable nature with a genuine passion for elderly care*.

Excellent communication and team leadership skills.

Salary: A competitive hourly rate of 13.60*.
