Job Description

:

To support the management in all aspects of running and overseeing the Home, including assuming full responsibility in the absence of the Manager. Lead by example to assist care staff in their roles, ensuring the provision of high-quality care that promotes independence, choice, dignity, and privacy for residents. Maintain the Home's reputation and confidentiality at all times, acting professionally both on and off the premises.

Skills & Knowledge Required:

Level 3 NVQ in care. Strong leadership and organisational skills. Experience in healthcare or residential care settings. Knowledge or experience of Atlas medication system is advantageous. Understanding of medication management and audits. Ability to complete medication risk assessments. Ability to oversee care plans and ensure they are followed effectively. Strong communication skills to liaise with management, staff, residents, and external stakeholders. Ability to manage shifts, staffing levels, and scheduling. Awareness of safeguarding, confidentiality, and professional conduct requirements. Ability to manage activities that enhance the quality of life for residents.
Main Responsibilities:

Staff & Shift Management:

Ensure adequate staffing levels using all available resources and liaise with agencies if needed. Oversee time management of shift staff, ensuring proper break allocations and communal area coverage. Help on the floor as and when you are required.
Care & Medication:

Assist the Manager/Care Facilitators with medication-related audits, PCS support, and reviews. Supervise staff in care and medication administration, completing necessary documentation. Ensure care plans are followed, addressing any shortcomings with team leaders and staff. Assist with issuing medications and maintaining necessary records.
Resident Wellbeing & Activities:

Develop and encourage participation in activities that enhance residents' quality of life. Provide mental and physical stimulation through engagement and conversation. Assist residents with mobility, hygiene, dressing, and other personal care needs. Provide care for residents who are unwell and support end-of-life care.
General Duties:

Respond to calls, answer the door, and welcome visitors. Monitor and report changes in residents' needs, mental and physical health. Carry out other duties as required by the Home and designated by the Manager.
You will be required to be flexible for the needs of the business, this will include working every other weekend and day shifts.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 12.50 per hour
