We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Senior Care Assistant to join our team within a reputable care home specialising in senior care. The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality support and supervision to residents, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. The Senior Care Assistant will be responsible for assisting with daily activities, implementing care plans, and leading by example in delivering person-centred care.
Responsibilities
Assist residents with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and mobility support, maintaining dignity and respect at all times
Supervise and support junior staff members, providing guidance and leadership to ensure consistent delivery of high standards of care
Implement and review individualised care plans in collaboration with the wider care team, ensuring personalised support tailored to each resident's needs
Maintain accurate documentation of care activities, incidents, and resident progress using IT systems
Foster positive communication with residents, their families, and team members to promote a supportive environment
Support residents' social engagement by organising activities and encouraging participation in community events within the care home
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, safeguarding policies, and infection control procedures
Drive the organisation of daily routines within the care home to optimise residents' comfort and well-being
Taking part in on-call duties.
Qualifications
Previous experience working within a care home environment specialising in senior or elderly care is essential
Supervising or leadership experience within a healthcare setting is highly desirable
Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with residents, families, and team members
Knowledge of care plans development and adherence to regulatory standards in elder care
Proficiency in IT systems for documentation and communication purposes
Compassionate attitude with a genuine interest in supporting older adults' quality of life
NVQ level 3 or working towards.
