Job Overview


The Senior Care Assistant plays a crucial role in providing high-quality care to clients in their own homes ensuring their comfort and wellbeing, and fostering a safe and nurturing environment.
The Senior Care Assistant will also take on leadership responsibilities and contribute towards the planning and implementation of comprehensive individual programmes, which facilitate the development and practice of skills that are necessary to enable service users to live in their preferred living environment.

Duties



To facilitate the daily routines of the service user including bathing, dressing, undressing, toileting and personal care and assisting the service users mobility both in their own home and within the community. Empowering the client to being as independent as possible. Support residents in daily activities, promoting their independence and dignity. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to implement and review care plans. Supervise staff members, providing guidance and support as needed. Maintain accurate records of resident care and progress. Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members to ensure a cohesive approach to care. Drive residents to appointments or social activities as required. Ensure the care home environment is safe, clean, and welcoming for all residents. Participate in and contribute to staff training programme(s) (example shadowing shifts) supporting your co-workers where needed. Any other reasonable duties falling within the roleof senior care assistant as delegated by the Registered Care Manager or Deputy Manager. To wear the uniform and identity badge at all times when on duty. Work within a rota system, including unsociable hours as required

Skills

Proven experience in senior care or within a care setting is essential. Strong supervisory experience with the ability to lead and motivate a team. Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with residents, families, and colleagues. Proficient IT skills for maintaining records and documentation related to resident care. Ability to develop and implement individualised care plans that meet the specific needs of each resident. A valid driving licence Reliable and flexible A compassionate approach with strong interpersonal skills is vital for building relationships with residents and their families.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From 12.50 per hour

Expected hours: 25 - 40 per week
