We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Care Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in providing high-quality care to our residents, ensuring their comfort and well-being. You will be responsible for supporting individuals in a care home environment, assisting with daily activities, and promoting a positive living experience. Your leadership skills will be essential in supervising junior staff and collaborating with the care team to implement effective care plans.
Main Purpose of the Post:

To assist the manager in the day to day smooth running of the home.
2.
To take a lead role in all aspects of care and needs of the residents, ensuring the highest possible standards of care and practice are met, understood and maintained.
Main Duties:
1.
To provide and be responsible for the residents personal needs and provide health supervision through direct care where needed.
2.
To ensure that the residents "quality of life" embodies the basic concepts of choice, dignity, privacy and independence and to recognise the value of and encourage residents involvement in decisions relating to the running of their home.
3.
To ensure that all duties undertaken by all staff are performed to the required standards and that all staff contribute to the efficient running of the home in a professional manner thereby creating the "right" atmosphere.
4.
Senior Care Assistant to ensure that all staff sign 'in' and 'out' on the appropriate forms giving accurate times of arrival and departure.
5.
To assist in the preparing of staff rota's .
6.
To be "on call" for emergencies arising in the home.
7.
To give practical help and support to junior members of staff relating to the care and well being of the residents and to lead by example.
8.
To work closely with the manager and be responsible for dealing with residents and residents' relatives concerning the health and welfare of the residents.
9.
To help to formulate and maintain health and social care plans for new and existing residents and to maintain all records and files properly and accurately.
10.
In conjunction with the manager control the issue of drugs for which the home has taken responsibility and to maintain the necessary records. To ensure that the correct stocks of drugs are maintained and to ensure the safe disposal of unwanted drugs as set out in the home guidelines for the control and safe custody of drugs.
11.
Be responsible for the use and care of resident's equipment and supplies.
12.
To participate in the development of meaningful activities for residents in the home and outside the home in which they can join in and which will enhance their quality of life.
13.
Ensure that all rooms, walkways and common areas are properly cleaned, maintained and adequately heated.
14.
Ensure that residents and their relatives are treated with dignity and respect and that any complaints are brought to the attention of the manager for action.
15.
Ensure that the preparation, cooking and service of food to the residents meet with the required standards.
16.
To ensure that "confidentiality" is paramount and that anything discussed concerning residents is kept strictly "confidential" and within the confines of the home.
17.
To undertake any such training as deemed necessary.
18.
Undertake any other duties as may be assigned by the manager from time to time.

Experience
Previous experience in senior care or a similar role is highly desirable.
Strong communication skills are essential for interacting with residents and their families.
Demonstrated ability to supervise staff effectively while fostering a supportive team environment.

A genuine passion for providing quality care to elderly individuals is crucial for success in this role.
