We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Care Assistant to join our reputable care home. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, excellent communication skills, and a genuine passion for providing high-quality care to our residents. This role offers an opportunity to lead a team, oversee care plans, and ensure the well-being and comfort of our residents are prioritised at all times. A valid driving licence is desirable to facilitate transportation needs.
Duties
Supervise and support care staff to deliver compassionate and personalised care to residents
Assist in developing, implementing, and reviewing individualised care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals
Provide direct personal care to residents, including assistance with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and mobility
Monitor residents' health and wellbeing, reporting any concerns promptly to the appropriate healthcare providers
Lead by example in maintaining high standards of hygiene, safety, and dignity within the care environment
Organise and participate in staff training sessions to promote continuous professional development
Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members to ensure clarity and consistency of care
Maintain accurate documentation using IT systems for record keeping and reporting purposes
Support the organisation of activities and social events that enhance residents' quality of life
Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations
Qualifications
Proven supervising experience within a care home or senior care setting
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide team members
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Knowledge of care plans, safeguarding procedures, and relevant regulatory standards
Competent IT skills for documentation and communication purposes
Compassionate nature with a genuine commitment to delivering person-centred care
Ability to work effectively as part of a team whilst demonstrating initiative when required
