Job Description

To oversee the care team ensuring that the personal, emotional, spiritual and social care requirements of brethren are met, respecting their privacy and dignity and promoting independence at all times

Duties to include:



Personal care Promoting the mental and physical activity of brethren, including through talking to them, taking them out, sharing with them in activities such as reading, writing, hobbies and recreations Upholding the rights, choices, dignity and the equality and diversity of the brethren with a person-centred approach, and having respect for the Rule of the Community Reporting and recording health changes / associated problems Assisting with medication, first aid boxes and supplies of medication Making appointments and accompanying Brethren to appointments Maintaining care plans Laundry and room cleansing Serving meals and liaising on diet with catering staff Being on call during working hours, and being ready on occasion to give guidance out-of-hours to team members as needed Liaising with other agencies Guiding the work of the assistant carer and Infirmary brothers Advising the Community on its health-care practices, including where guests or other residents are concerned Keeping brethren safe and well protected at all times, reporting and recording all concerns in a timely manner.
Dimensions of the Role

Hours of work = 16 hours per week

Times of work = These are negotiable in conjunction with the assistant carer, with the possibility of overtime to cover holidays/sickness. Some week-end working will be necessary.

Desired Skills:



NVQ Level 3 (preferred) Ability to devise person-centred care plans - monitor/review/update these Experience of medication management - Certificate in Safe Handling of Medicines Driving Licence (preferred)

Additional Requirements:



The Community of the Resurrection operates under the Safeguarding rules and regulations applicable to the Church of England. All employees and volunteers of the community will be required to undertake the appropriate level of safeguarding training applicable to the role applied for and comply with all requirements of our Safeguarding policy and related rules and regulations The successful applicant will have a First Aid certificate, and a DBS check will be required All offers of employment will be subject to checks by the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) along with other relevant employment checks and receiving adequate employment references

Pay: 14.00 per hour
