We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Care Assistant to join our team in providing exceptional care to residents in our care home. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in senior care, with experience in supervising staff and leading care initiatives. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to develop and implement care plans tailored to individual needs.
Duties
Provide high-quality personal care and support to residents, ensuring their dignity and comfort at all times.
Assist in the development and implementation of individual care plans, regularly reviewing and updating them as necessary.
Supervise and mentor junior staff, fostering a positive working environment and promoting best practices in senior care.
Maintain accurate records of resident care, including daily notes and any changes in health or behaviour.
Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure a collaborative approach to care.
Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in senior care.
Administer medication.
Working with visiting professionals.
Dealing with any concerns.
Qualifications
Previous experience in a senior care role is essential, preferably within a care home setting.
Supervising experience is highly desirable, demonstrating leadership capabilities.
Strong understanding of care plans and the ability to tailor them to meet individual needs.
Working towards or already qualified to QCF Level 2 (or equivalent) in Health & Social Care.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with residents and their families.
Proficient IT skills for maintaining records and documentation.
