We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Care Assistant to join our Night team within a reputable care home. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, excellent communication skills, and a genuine passion for providing high-quality care to our residents. This role involves supervising junior staff, developing personalised care plans, and ensuring the well-being and comfort of all residents. The Senior Care Assistant will play a vital part in maintaining a safe, respectful, and nurturing environment. A valid driving licence is desirable to facilitate transportation needs.
Duties
Supervise and support junior care staff, ensuring high standards of care are maintained at all times
Assist residents with daily activities such as personal hygiene, mobility, and medication management
Develop, implement, and review personalised care plans in collaboration with residents and their families
Monitor residents' health and wellbeing, reporting any concerns to healthcare professionals promptly
Lead by example in delivering compassionate and respectful care tailored to individual needs
Maintain accurate records using digital systems for documentation and communication purposes
Organise activities that promote social interaction and mental stimulation among residents
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the care environment
Communicate effectively with residents, families, healthcare providers, and team members to ensure coordinated care
Qualifications
Proven experience in senior care or a similar role within a care home setting
Supervising or leadership experience in a healthcare environment is highly desirable
Knowledge of care plans, safeguarding procedures, and relevant legislation
Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with diverse individuals
Proficiency in IT systems used for documentation and reporting purposes
Driving licence preferred to support transportation requirements
Compassionate attitude with strong organisational skills and attention to detail
