We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Care Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide high-quality care to our residents, ensuring their comfort, dignity, and overall well-being. You will work closely with other care staff to implement care plans and support the daily activities of residents in a care home setting. Your leadership skills will be essential in supervising junior staff and fostering a positive environment for both residents and team members.
Duties
Assist residents with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
Support residents in daily activities such as meal preparation, medication management, and mobility assistance.
Communicate effectively with residents, their families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
Supervise and mentor junior care staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
Participate in the development and implementation of individualised care plans tailored to each resident's needs.
Maintain accurate records of resident care and report any changes in health or behaviour to the appropriate personnel.
Ensure a safe and clean environment within the care home by adhering to health and safety regulations.
Drive residents to appointments or social outings as required.
Experience
Previous experience in senior care or a similar role is essential. NVQ level 3 a must.
Strong communication skills are necessary for effective interaction with residents and their families.
Experience in supervising staff is highly desirable.
Familiarity with IT systems for record keeping and communication within the healthcare setting is advantageous.
A valid driving licence is preferred for transporting residents when needed.
Demonstrated ability to develop and implement care plans tailored to individual needs.
