Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Senior Care Assistant to join our compassionate team at Sherrington House. This role is essential in ensuring that our residents receive the highest quality of care while promoting their independence and well-being.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to our residents in a care home setting. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of our residents and contribute to their overall well-being.

Duties:

- Administer medications as prescribed and maintain accurate records, be involved in other medication process, i.e: ordering and booking in.
- maintain care plans tailored to individual resident needs
- Monitor residents' health and report any changes or concerns to the appropriate medical professionals
- Provide emotional support and companionship to residents
- Coordinate with other healthcare professionals and family members to ensure comprehensive care
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for residents
- Supervise and train junior care staff
- Use IT systems to record and update resident information

Requirements:

- Previous experience in senior care or a similar role is required
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively communicate with residents, families, and healthcare professionals
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise and guide junior staff members
- Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to provide quality care for seniors
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
